The Problem
My employees are burnt out on surveys, we’re seeing low engagement and a lack of buy in. We want to provide a way for their voices to be heard that is more interesting and engaging than a traditional survey.
The Plan
Conduct a Live Conversation, being sure to create a Discussion Guide with room for asking follow up questions and responding in the moment to employees. Remesh Live is a dynamic and interesting way for employees to share their thoughts, while increasing transparency and trust between leadership and employees through our unique voting exercises.
- Prepare participants
- Ask impactful questions
- Draft an engaging discussion guide
- Analyze Live
- Conduct a Practice Session
Prepare Participants
Remesh is a dynamic tool that does not feel like a typical survey, so it may be helpful to provide context and instructions to employees regarding the Remesh experience in a calendar invitation holding the time that they Conversation will take place.
We recommend reviewing our Employee Research Best Practices for additional information and templates!
Ask Impactful Questions
You can ask any combination of our question types, but we particularly recommend our Ask Opinion question. This question will prompt participants to respond to the question you programmed in their own words then anonymously vote on each other’s responses. That voting data will then be used to bring out the responses that are most representative of the group while maintaining anonymity. We’re all about democratizing employees voices, meaning that whether you’re a wallflower or a social butterfly, your voice will have equal weight in a Remesh Conversation. Some examples of Ask Opinion questions you can ask are…
- How do you feel about your benefits package?
- What is the number one barrier you’re currently experiencing at work?
- What questions do you have for leadership?

Draft an Engaging Discussion Guide
In a Live Conversation, you have the ability to add, edit and skip questions in the moment. When trying to engage with employees, we recommend planning to make changes in the moment to increase engagement and buy-in. You can also add question placeholders, allowing you to make adjustments and add in ideas as you go. For example, you might plan to…
- Add a message after “How do you feel about your benefits package?” saying something like “It looks like many of you are very fond of our _____ benefits! We’re so glad to hear that, and will be sure to take that into consideration as we’re planning for next year.”
- Add a question after “What is the number one barrier you’re currently experiencing at work?” saying something like “Many of you agreed that you’re currently experiencing barriers around _____ aspect of your work. When you think about removing this barrier, what does that work environment look like?”
Analyze Live
As you are moderating your Conversation, you can effortlessly analyze responses using our machine learning-powered metrics.
- Percent Agree: Pulls to the top the most highly agreed upon responses in Ask Opinion questions
- Common Topics: Identifies key words and phrases that are showing up most frequently in Ask Opinion responses
Ask follow up questions and custom text in the moment
During the Live Remesh Conversation, ask follow up questions and add details to placeholder text to help personalize your session and engage with participants. It’s easy to edit and add questions as you moderate your Conversation, and you can quickly see what ideas are surfacing. It can be helpful to have an outline of questions you want to ask or create a question bank to choose from as you moderate. This in combination with our AutoSend feature, which allows you to put your moderation in autopilot, will allow you to make the most of your time with your participants and surface ideas quickly.
Conduct a Practice Session
Conduct a practice session using our simulation tool, which allows the moderator practice with their discussion guide by engaging with simulated responses.
