The Problem
I want to conduct a focus group and I need a way to identify which candidates I’d like to invite as well as gain some initial insights to draft a targeted, purposeful focus group discussion guide.
The Plan
Conduct a Live Conversation to get instant feedback from your audience and identify audience members you’d like to follow up with, use the data collected in your Live Conversation to inform the creation of your Focus Group Discussion Guide.
- Recruit and Invite your Remesh Audience
- Plan Your Remesh Discussion Guide
- Analyze Live
- Conduct Your Follow Up Focus Group
Recruit and Invite your Remesh Audience
Begin recruiting your Remesh audience using our audience management tools. You may want to select unique links if you intend to review your Remesh responses after the session and hand pick focus group participants based upon their responses. More on that later.
Plan Your Remesh Discussion Guide
Remesh offers a variety of question types, and we recommend using all of them! For this particular use case, we do recommend incorporating a number of Ask Opinion questions. Ask Opinion questions allow participants respond in their own words to an open end question before voting anonymously on other participants’ responses. Our AI works in the background to instantly share the most agreed-upon responses allowing you as the researcher to quickly see ideas that are rising to the top. This will help you get quickly and easy get an understanding of key themes and gaps in participants’ responses allowing you to adjust your focus group discussion guide as needed.
Analyze Live
As you are moderating your Conversation, you can effortlessly analyze responses in real time using our machine learning-powered metrics.
- Percent Agree: Pulls to the top the most highly agreed upon responses in Ask Opinion and Branching questions
- Common Topics: Identifies key words and phrases that are showing up most frequently in Ask Opinion responses
We recommend reviewing these metrics throughout the Conversation to see what themes arise.
Conduct Your Follow Up Focus Group
You can either take a break before you conduct your focus group, or host it immediately following your Remesh session!
Taking a Break After the Remesh Conversation
After ending the Conversation, you can review the data collected. Download the Conversation Data sorted by Participant and make note of any participants that you’d like to invite to your follow up Conversation based upon their responses. Making note of their Participant IDs, if you managed your audience communication on Remesh, you can return to the Audience Page to identify the email addresses associated with each Participant ID and send them a calendar invitation for your follow up focus group.
From there, you can continue analyzing the Remesh Conversation and identifying any key areas you would like to highlight in your focus group discussion guide.
Immediately Following Remesh Conversation
If you want to conduct your focus group immediately following the Remesh Conversation, you can program a custom end message to a specific group. Programming a custom end message allows you to send specific end messages to groups based upon how they’ve responded to a poll question, or based upon participant data uploaded in the recruitment phase. You can easily program this end message to contain a link to a conference line where the Conversation will take place. Use the data you collected an the analysis you conducted during the session to inform how you will adjust your focus group discussion guide!
