Audience Participant Links

Overview

Remesh participants access Conversations via a link and they can complete a Remesh Conversation on any device that has access to the internet and an up to date supported browser. If you are recruiting your own audience, you will need to send all participants a link.

How it Works

There are three three options for sharing participant links, which you can find in your Remesh Conversation under "Audience" on the left hand panel.

Single Participant Link

Using this method you would share one link with all participants, and responses would be completely anonymous.

Use case: We recommend using this method if you are conducting Employee Research, as the responses will be completely anonymous.

Tracking Participants: If you send the same link to all participants, there is no way to track participants.

How to: Simply copy the link and share it via any avenues that your participants can access. This can include email, calendar invitation, and more. If you'd like more information regarding best practices for Employee Research, you can find that here.

Unique Participant Links

Using this method you would share a unique link with each participant, which would have a unique identifier attached. You are then able to export a participant data file after your Conversation containing these unique identifiers and how much each of those participants has completed.

Use case: We recommend using this method if you would like to track participants and incentivize them.

Tracking Participants: Using this method, you can track participants using their assigned participant identifier to see how much of the Conversation they have completed and how they’ve responded to questions.

Remesh does not recommend collecting personal identifiable information such as participant names or email addresses, this information should be stored off platform and matched to the participant identifier.

How to:

  1. Navigate to the Audience page and select the Distribute tab then select Unique Participant Links.
  2. Once the Unique Participant Links has been selected, the platform will auto-populate the number of unique link based on the Max Number of Participants added to the Schedule page. You have the option to select if multiple devices can access a single link by clicking the checkbox below. Leaving this box unchecked would block participants from completing the session on multiple devices.
  3. When you’re ready, click Download File to receive a CSV with your unique participant links. After downloading your file, you will see a list of links that should look like:
    Tracking Individual Participants 2
  4. You or your recruitment partner can assign each link to a participant and send them to your audience.
  5. When a participant clicks their unique link, it will pass through the Unique ID, seen after the ?pid= Then, when the session has ended, the Participant Data CSV can be downloaded which will show a list of IDs who participated and the percentage of questions they answered.
    Tracking Individual Participants 3
  6. You can then cross-reference this with the list of Unique IDs assigned to each participant.

Upload Existing Participant Data

Using this method will allow you to both track participants using unique participant links as well as upload additional participant data that was collected outside the Remesh platform. You can then use this uploaded existing participant data to create Segments and analyze your data.

Use case: We recommend using this method if you are conducting research on Remesh and would like to pair external poll data with each participant. For example, if you've collected screener data and would like to upload that data rather than asking it again in the Remesh platform.

Tracking Participants: Using this method, you can track participants using their assigned participant identifier to see how much of the Conversation they have completed and how they’ve responded to questions. You can learn more about tracking participants here.

Remesh does not recommend collecting personal identifiable information such as participant names or email addresses, this information should be stored off platform and matched to the participant identifier.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I customize or change the participant link for a conversation?
Each conversation's participant links are specific to that conversation and cannot be changed. You are able to customize the unique IDs found after the ?pid= in the unique links, but we recommend exercising caution when doing this and testing them ahead of your Conversation, as we cannot guarantee customized unique ID links will be successful.
  • Is there a way for two conversations to have the same link?
While there is not a way for two conversations to have the same link, you can reopen a live conversation as a Flex conversation, which would keep the same link. Learn more about reopen here!
  • If I forgot to send participants unique links, is there any way to recover participant information?
We do not have a way to track participants without using unique links. You may be able to determine participant identity from click through rates if you have access to that information, or you can recontact participants and confirm their attendance.
  • Can I make a QR code using the participant link?
Yes! Currently you cannot create a QR code within the platform, but many users have successfully created QR codes with external websites. We always recommend testing the QR code before sharing it with your participants.
  • Can Remesh be accessed by participants on a shared device?
Yes, Remesh can be accessed on a shared device! Please keep in mind that if you intend to have multiple participants access a Flex Conversation on the same device, the browser will save progress for 24 hours. We recommend utilizing a Chrome incognito window in this instance.
